Rachael set up “Pink Blue & You”, 18 months ago. Now, almost into the second year of running her own business Rachael will share some of the process she’s been through;
the hopes, fears, and expectations, and some of the difficulties of running her own business alongside having a family (and a puppy). The fear of failure was swiftly followed by the fear of success and Rachael found that her biggest handicap isn't two young children, or the energetic puppy; it's her tendency to be a perfectionist.
Rachael is a candid, warm and engaging speaker with no artifice. She will talk about the bits no one can prepare us for! It’s wonderful to know we’re in good company.
04/07/2012, 11.30am to 2.30pm

Caroline Wright and Jo Corfield run “Talking Horses” from their Cotswold base. They will be bringing along a miniature Shetland pony to show us how they teach the special language of ponies so that people can learn how to listen to, understand and talk to them. They run events for children exploring communication and expression through a magical blend of working with horses and ponies and creative storytelling and writing.
With plenty of adventures to draw on and lots of exciting ideas, Jo and Caroline know that everyone has a special story to tell. Children absolutely love the events and leave happy and inspired while parents are full of praise for our unique approach to building skills, creativity and confidence. This month’s meeting is for the child in all of us, no matter our actual age!

Sue Heady runs her own PR consultancy from Moreton in Marsh. Sue has a passionate commitment to learning more about all the beautiful things on our Cotswold doorsteps and is heading up the promotion and marketing of this year’s Broadway Arts Festival, which will feature the work of John Singer Sargent and Alfred Parsons. She’ll give us the inside scoop on the event (9th to 17th of June), as well as suggesting ways in which we can all reach local and national audiences through the media (in its various forms), using well-timed press releases, quirky story ideas and cross promotions.

Rachel Fisher, a recent arrival to the Cotswolds from London, is a freelance make-up artist. She specialises in wedding and party faces for women who want to easily and confidently reflect the best of themselves rather than wear a mask that takes hours to put on and take off. Rachel has agreed to give us a demo showing how busy women like us can take less than 5 minutes in the morning to bring out the best. She’ll need a volunteer or two! Any offers?
01/02/2012, 7.30pm to 9pm

Following Christmas which, for many of us, involves intense time with our families, Susanna Baker will be with us for our January meeting. Susanna is a clinical psychologist who works with children, young people and with adults who are parents.
This will be an interactive presentation with plenty of room for general questions about the role of a child clinical psychologist. Susanna will share with us examples of how she works with children, young people and families using anonymised examples from her practice.

Love them or loathe them, dogs are firmly part of British family and village life. Susanne takes communication skills to a whole new level and will show us how to understand what dogs are trying to tell us, and how to effectively respond.
Suzanne is a dog behaviourist and works with Labrador Rescue and Guide Dogs to rehome and rehabilitate dogs. She also works as a dog trainer, runs classes for new owners and their puppies and does behavioural consultations with rescue dogs, puppy training and teenage manners (for dogs only)!
Join us to deepen your own bond with your dog and find out how to deal with aggressive dogs you may encounter when you’re out and about. If Chequers don’t mind, Suzanne will bring a dog to the meeting!
